Our Ethos
The ethos of Dance Mouse is to provide structured, age-appropriate dance styles that stimulate young bodies and minds. Offering a diverse range of dance styles, including hip hop, modern ballet, jazz, and more.
Through dance, we aim to enhance coordination, balance, rhythm, self-confidence, emotional well-being, and overall fitness.

Incorporating the 8 basic essential movement patterns: Proprioception, balance, core strength training, integrated reflexes using age appropriate music, equipment and dance movement activities!
DANCE MOUSE PROGRAM

Dance Mouse is aimed at boys and girls from 3yrs-6yrs. Over 17+ Dance styles including hip hop, jazz, modern, freestyle and more…Diverse focus on movement patterns, midline crossing, visual acuity and palmar grip and so much more…
DANCE MADNESS PROGRAM
GR 1-12
Dance Madness is for boys and girls from 7yrs-18yrs. Enter competitions or dance just for fun, either way we are here to help you become awesome!
PRE PRIMARY BALLET

DMC Ballet is a structured & fun way to learn ballet technique, body conditioning and alignment. Options may include annual assessment graduations.
PRIMARY BALLET

Discover the joy of dance with DMC Ballet. Our program teaches ballet fundamentals through creative movement & performance.
ACROBATICS PROGRAM
GR 000-7
DMC Acro is an introduction to basic acrobatic tricks and skills. Building strength and flexibility safely through our comprehensive acro program.
UNIFORMS & ACCESSORIES
Uniforms are mandatory for our dance classes, and we offer various options for selection.
Encouraging the use of uniforms serves several purposes:
Professionalism and Cohesion:
Uniforms promote a professional atmosphere and create a sense of unity among dancers.
Reducing Distractions:
By wearing consistent attire, students can focus better during class.
Quick Identification:
Trainers can easily identify children when collecting them for class.
Appropriate Movement Attire:
Dancers need the right clothing to move, stretch, and dance comfortably. Some everyday clothes may not be suitable for dance class.
Comradery and Commitment:
Similar to sports teams, uniforms foster a sense of belonging, tradition, and commitment and discipline.
Assessments:
Uniforms are required for assessments and exams.
Graduation
FOR PRE-SCHOOL LEARNERS
All dancers require the DMC Dance Kit for Graduation
1. The Graduation ceremony marks the end of the students time in that grade. During this event dancers receive their certificate and medal of achievement.
2. All dancers attending the DMC Graduation must have the DMC Dance Kit.
3. The graduation, showcasing the year’s efforts, will take place during their usual dance class time (dates will be shared via WhatsApp groups later in the year).
4. Dancers will demonstrate their hard work to parents and teachers.
5. The event features a prize-giving ceremony, where each dancer will receive a medal, certificate, and a treat.
6. Online reports are emailed mid-year in July and at year-end in December.
7. Reports for Tots are sent out only in December.
Dance Assessments
Annual Requirements for All Dancers:
Assessment Day:
Dancers perform in front of an examiner to evaluate their individual progress and development. This is a mandatory event.
Date Notifications
Dates will be communicated via WhatsApp groups.
Presentation
Dancers showcase their year’s hard work to parents and an examiner.
Individual Assessment
Dancers are evaluated based on their own merit, not compared to others.
Prize Giving
Assessments are followed by a prize-giving ceremony.
Year-End Reports
Online reports are emailed at the end of the year.
Ballet Exams
PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS
All dancers must have the DMC Ballet kit, including shoes and stockings/socks for ballet exams.
Mandatory Ballet Exams
Required for all primary school ballet dancers to advance to the next level.
Ballet Levels
Range from Preparatory to Level 5.
Annual Exams
Held near the end of the year. Dates and details are communicated via WhatsApp groups and email
Exam Components
Include Barre, port de bras, adage, allegro, and various dances.
DMC Festival / Showcase
PRE & PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS
Annual Event
Dancers perform as a team on a professional stage.
Year-Long Preparation
Dancers work throughout the year for this event.
Focus on Fun
The showcase emphasizes enjoyment, building confidence, and celebrating accomplishments.
Awards
Dancers receive Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum certificates and medals from the adjudicator.
