WHY SHOULD YOUR CHILD ENROL IN OUR PROGRAM?
Our primary aim is to ensure that we build children’s confidence and self-esteem with a fun, energetic and physical approach. We offer various genres which caters for all.
Ballet, Modern, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Freestyle, African dance to mention a few.
We also use different props such as ribbons, scarves, balls, flags, umbrellas, hula hoops etc to make the dances fun and challenging.
We also encourage dancers to take part in festivals, showcases, concerts & assessments in order to build a sense of achievement. Dancers are awarded medals, certificates, both mid and year end reports. This rewards them for their hard work during the year.
We encourage a specific dance uniform in order to allow dancers to move, stretch and dance in the correct attire. The uniform also promotes professionalism, comradery and commitment much like a sports team.
The Dance Mouse Company is 16yrs old with some 70 franchises countrywide.
Over 7000 dancers participate in the program.
Most classes are held at schools across South Africa and abroad in Namibia.
Enrolment Procedures
1.
After your enrolment online, your dancer will be added to the class register.
2.
You will receive an automatic welcome letter confirming your enrolment has been received.
* If not, please email your relevant Franchise owner or Dance Teacher for your area.
3.
This serves as confirmation that your dancer will be added to the register to begin lessons.
4.
The enrolment details are forwarded to our accounts department who will send an invoice via email with banking details.
5.
Payment can be made either on receipt of the invoice or monthly.
6.
Payments can be made either Termly or Monthly over 10 months
7.
Payments for public terms are over 3 months or private schools over 4 months
8.
We do offer a 10% discount for annual payments
9.
Dancers begin immediately after enrolment has been received and no upfront payments are required.
10.
Please be patient with invoices being issued in January as it takes a week or two to get everyone sorted
PLEASE NOTE
All communication is via the WhatsApp groups.
When you enroll your dancer online, we request a WhatsApp number which is then added to the group.
Should you require a second number added to the group you are welcome to send a request on the group.
Should you leave the group we cannot be held responsible for lack of communication. Emails are currently unreliable as hosting companies are blocking bulk emails
We do emails regularly but if you don’t hear from us at all, Please WhatsApp us.
If not please email your relevant Franchise owner or Dance Teacher for your area.
UNIFORMS & ACCESSORIES
Uniforms are mandatory for classes. Different options are available for selection.
After full payment is made, the uniform is ordered from the Head office.
This can take 2-3 weeks for delivery to the dancers at their school depending on stock availability.
In the meantime, they can wear their school uniform ( please wear shorts underneath the dresses) or something easy to move in i.e (top & shorts or top & leggings)

Reports
1. Progress reports for Tots are completed only at year end and sent to parents via email by Dec 15th each year. One report per annum.
2. Progress reports for Preschoolers and Primary school learners are completed mid-year and end year and sent to parents via email by July & Dec each year. Two reports per annum.
Annual Events
(these will vary according to each individual Franchise)
Brag Day’s
1. ‘Brag days’ where parents are welcome to join us to see the progress and development of their child.
2. Teachers will send reminders on the groups.
Dance Exams & Assessments
Obligatory for all dancers annually.
1. An assessment day where dancers perform in front of an examiner to assess their individual progress and development – compulsory event
2. Dates will be sent via the WhatsApp groups .
3. Dancers will present their year’s hard work to the parents and to an examiner.
4. Dancers are assessed individually at their own merit and not compared to other children.
5. Assessments are followed by a prize giving, where they will each receive their medal, certificate, and a treat ( option to be handed out at the Brag Day)
6. Year end online reports are sent via email in December.
Primary School Ballet Exams
Ballet exams are mandatory for all Primary school Ballet dancers to ensure they are able to graduate to the next level.
Correct Ballet attire is required for Ballet exams – Leotard and skirt, Pale pink stockings or tights and Pale pink Ballet shoes.
